Can you believe it’s mid-October? I wanted to outline a few of my favorite Halloween activities before the end of the month. Long Beach is one of the best areas to visit on a day trip, let me tell you why!

I had the great opportunity of spending time down in LB and love the atmosphere there. From the Aquarium to Ports O’Call, the Queen Mary and more!

My friend had been telling me about dining over there for months and I finally had to pay a visit.

Guess what? So much going on to do but here’s a few highlights:

• The Aquarium of the Pacific transforms into Scarium of the Pacific October 24 and 25 where children will enjoy “fangtastic” activities. For additional information call (562) 590-3100 or visit www.aquariumofpacific.org.

• How about a free and frightening Halloween Festival?  Halloween on Pine brings fabulous food and drink specials, haunting sights and sounds by DJ Groovy Lu.  www.dlba.org/residents/HalloweenonPine.

• Every October the Queen Mary transforms into “The Most Terrifying Place On Earth” for Shipwreck, the Queen Mary’s Halloween Terror Fest. Tickets can be purchased at the Queen Mary Box office at (562) 435-3511, www.shipwreckhalloween.com or www.wantickets.com.

• Take a Historical Cemetery Tour that includes 10 graveside stories and displays, multiple historical displays and a Dia de los Muertos craft area for children. www.historicalsocietylb.org.

• Celebrate Dia de Los Muertos at MoLAA on Sunday, November, 1. Free event includes: altar viewing, performances, food & drink, art workshops, docent tours and more! www.molaa.org.

Personally, I have been to the Queen Mary during Christmas time, Ports of Call and the Aquarium – Love it!
