Every time I turn around lately, I hear more news of job loss, changes in health care coverage and just on a very basic level – the frustrations with these challenges.

And just like Heidi of The Frugal Girls and Kelly with Grocery Outlet, for many others, including myself, it is time to re-evaluate and take a new path on this journey. I am frugal but my focus has changed to really think more about choices all around. Companies are looking for our business now more than ever. I am looking to make purchases with companies that are doing more than campaigning for our limited spending dollars. Companies that are making more conscientious decisions will continue to have my loyalty, now and when this economy levels back out.

Are you finding yourself on the same path or have been doing this for awhile now?

Share with me what has been working for you and what has not. Feel free to post resource sites here and places you stretch your buck, alternatives to high cost items etc.

I will continue sharing with you my finds, more than freebies, but companies that truly have my support.

Here are a few things I have been doing:

  • Clipping coupons (Coupons.com, Sunday circular)
  • Shopping Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid (Health, beauty, rewards deals)
  • Shopping more than one store for groceries ( wkly circulars, compare for the best deals)
  • Checking manufacturers website for online coupons
  • Following my favorite brands on Twitter and Facebook (for promotion updates)
