Daily Deals: Groupon

I did it. I never thought I would. I signed up for two deals via Groupon.

Most of what I have seen were restaurant and spa deals but recently they had a subscription to LA Times, GAP and another local deals, I could not refuse.

If you haven’t taken a peak at it yet, it is worth signing up to get the deals delivered to your inbox so that you don’t miss out. I missed the GAP deal :\

Tips for School Supply Deals

By on 8-04-2010 in savings tips

The New Frugal Mom has some great ideas about School Supply Deals and ways to give back.

The short story:

Give Locally
Buy extra supplies to give to teachers, they always need them!
Ask – Just ask if the school needs any thing in particular and help where you can.
School already has what it needs?  Donate to local shelters or crisis centers.

Give Nationally
Look up lists of needs in far away in other cities.
Donate a few dollars to classrooms in need

I liked what The New Frugal Mom had to offer to help make back to school easier for everyone.

Money Saving Blogs I Follow

Money Saving Blogs I Follow (and more)…

Since it’s the first frufrugal blog-versary (this month), I thought I would give a link to the sites I have stumbled upon over the course of this last year that I have bookmarked and use frequently. Most of them cover similar stores but each very unique in their style and worth checking out!

If you haven’t already seen these sites, take a peek:

More than money saving advice, I follow up on deal posts about Albertsons Grocery Stores, weekly.
Great summary and typically right on with the most current specials and deals to get the most for your dollar!

I love to shop Vons, Target and CVS. Jess has very thorough deal posts and again, time saving. I typically print the list of deals she has posted. I go through them with a sharpie and mark the ones I am interested in. Then go back and print the coupons (she has links to them in the post). Super easy, thank you This Frugal Life!

Dina has great info on diets and nutrition. I love reading her posts and tweets, a lot of great info and reminders (that I definitely need to read, repeatedly:)

http://thefrugalgirls.com/
I follow The Frugal Girls on facebook. Daily, she is one of the many who have posts about product samples and more. More often than not, she has full details on how to obtain the freebies. Thus saving time and hassle getting through the screens. Plus she posts Walgreens weekly deals too.

Another great deal post site with info about Kroger stores and more.

Got any faves that you check frequently?

P90X On a Budget, Money Saving Mom Style

Leave it to Money Saving Mom to take this and make her own. That is why I love her blog.

Money Saving Mom sums it up here:
“When I’ve told people that I’m starting this program, often the first question I get is: Isn’t that going to cost an arm and a leg? Well, it could, but I don’t think it necessarily has to.”

Are you doing the program as well? If you are deciding to start, I’d be interested in hearing how well it has worked for you.
